“The NGO that gets things done.”

The Natural Resilience Fund received its 501c3 status as a public charity around August 23, 2013 (EIN # 46-3156820).

Its initial mission was to help finance large scale public projects to provide climate resilience assistance to municipalities, schools, universities, hospitals and companies through a climate resilience investment tax credit (CRITC) and climate resilience investment subsidies (CRIS).

The NRF was a finalist at the MIT Climate Co-Lab competition in Cambridge, MA during November 2014. Subsequently, the House of Representatives informed us that tax code reformation was a higher priority which resulted in the ill-fated tax revisions of 2018.

The NRF has been self-funded by Eric Jeffrey Kaufman since its inception.  The NRF white paper lays out the subsequent work done by the NRF to make the built environment more climate resilient.

With the climate crisis increasing at a rapid rate, it appears that climate migration will accelerate. The NRF is looking for an Executive Director and an Assistant Executive Director to take over the initial work done by Eric Jeffrey Kaufman and the former board of directors to help aid climate migrants.

As a public charity, the mission of the Natural Resilience Fund is to protect and enhance the health and resilience of natural communities, such as forests, wetlands, and other critical ecosystems, in the face of environmental threats such as climate change, habitat destruction, pollution, and other factors that impact ecological health.

The fund aims to provide grants, support field conservation efforts, fund research, and work with partner organizations and stakeholders to ensure that natural communities are conserved in a sustainable and effective way. Additionally, the fund can promote environmental education and community engagement programs to raise awareness about the importance of conserving natural ecosystems. Ultimately, the goal of the Natural Resilience Fund is to promote and further the protection and conservation of the natural environment for the benefit of current and future generations.
